Policy Introduction

Dog Shop is committed to the welfare of dogs.  But also, we are equally committed to operating and growing the business in a socially responsible manner by sourcing and supplying socially and environmentally products to our customers. We value our customers and staff and believe everyone should be treated with kindness and respect.

 

For Dogs

It is our love of dogs that we have in common with both our staff and our customers.  Dog Shop prides itself in being a one-stop shop offering a vast range of products for dogs to cover their whole life cycle.

We believe that dogs should have a well-balanced diet and we have taken great care to ensure that we stock a range of foods and treats that contain natural ingredients.

​

We are committed to the mission that all dogs should have a happy and healthy life free from unnecessary cruelty and destruction.

To support this mission, we stock Walkin’ Wheels products, which provides an alternative to euthanizing a dog.  We also support the rehoming of dogs through the Dog’s Trust with donations. We have formed a partnership with the Dog’s Trust and donate 5p to the Charity on every sale made through Dog Shop.

Our customers look to us for expert advice about their dogs and on the products we sell.  For this reason, it is important to us that we recruit and train the right people for all aspects of our business.  They all have one thing in common … the love of dogs. 

For our staff, we are dedicated to encouraging a supportive and inclusive culture amongst the whole workforce.  It is within our best interest to promote diversity and eliminate any forms of discrimination in the workplace.  Each employee is respected and valued and is therefore able to give their best as a result.  We believe our staff should have a work-life balance and in this respect, we provide flexible working conditions.

 

For the planet

In running our business, we are committed to minimising the impact of our activities on the environment.  This is achieved by sourcing planet-kind products such as biodegradable dog poo bags and toys made from recycled materials.  Also, all the shipping packaging materials received on our inbound goods are re-used on out-bound goods purchased by customers.
